Domain
Nebuluna was registered on September 14, 2025 through Namecheap and officially opened on November 14, 2025 — though my very first fanlisting had actually launched two weeks earlier, on November 1, 2025. I was deeply active in the anime, manga, and fan-shrine design community throughout the early 2000s, but as life grew busier, I drifted away from that world. Eventually I realized that a quiet, persistent emptiness had settled where that creative joy used to live. I knew I missed web design, but the feeling went deeper than that - I missed the sense of community, the shared enthusiasm, the little universe of creators who understood the magic of building something personal online. When I discovered that The Fanlistings Network was still active all these years later, and after stumbling across a few beautiful modern collectives, something in me lit up again. That spark was all I needed to dive back in and begin creating my own.
This domain (as well as the rest of the Dreamit Cosmos network) is hosted generously by Lysianthus. Thank you.
Name
While brainstorming potential domain names, Nebuluna surfaced and immediately felt right. I wanted a name I could shape from the ground up, something new enough to build an entire universe around. As a lifelong astrophile, and with my nickname and alias "Star" rooted directly in my real name, it only made sense to choose something touched by the cosmos. My interests are as expansive and varied as the night sky itself, so the name felt both fitting and inevitable, as though its lore had already begun to write itself.
- Nebula (a cloud of cosmic dust in interstellar space)
- Luna (derived from the Latin word "lūna" meaning moon)
- Nebula + Luna = Nebuluna
Layout
You're viewing Version One of Nebuluna, featuring a breathtaking illustration from the Korean manhwa A Stepmother's Märchen (officially published under The Fantasie of a Stepmother), illustrated by ORKA and written by Spice&Kitty. The characters featured are Nora von Nürnberg and Shuri von Neuschwanstein, the male lead and the protagonist, respectively.
The hold this manhwa has on me is unsurmountable. The story reads like a dream and the progression of the artwork - my goodness, the artwork! - deserves its own moment of awe. The illustration used in this layout comes from a single panel within the story. Not cover art, not promotional art — just an ordinary panel. That’s the level of dedication and detail ORKA pours into every page.
The ethereal portrayal of Nora and Shuri’s unspoken connection stopped me in my tracks when I first saw it and has stuck with me ever since. I knew I wanted to honor it in a graphic or layout one day, and it felt fitting for Nebuluna, a space meant to gather all the things I love. I can only hope I’ve done ORKA’s stunning work even a fraction of the justice it deserves.
